The Office of Educational Resources provides support for the development of educational materials for the undergraduate program at the UMKC School of Medicine. These services range from audiovisual services to medical photography to graphic design. Most undergraduate services are provided at no charge.

A secondary directive for the Office of Educational Resources is to serve as a support bureau for the School's affiliates and organizations. The department makes available virtually all services on a fee-for-service basis. These fees are below charges for similar services by outside organizations.

The department is divided into and includes these types of services:

  1. Administrative:

    room/theater scheduling, billing, marketing/promotion project coordination, public affairs, web site/instructional media development support, advertising development

  2. Graphic Design (&) Production / Medical Illustration:
    brochures, publications, invitations, web site/instructional media design support, poster sessions, flyers, banners, medical illustrations

  3. Editorial:

    copy writing for publications/brochures/etc, script writing, proofing/editing, marketing/promotion project development, press releases, media coordination, information mapping, web site/instructional media development support

  4. Audiovisual:

    equipment, technical support, room locking/unlocking, noon conferences

  5. Multimedia / Video:

    Quick Time (movies) media, CD/DVD/video production, slide show production, interactive broadcasts, satellite broadcasts, closed circuit television, web site/instructional media development support

  6. Photography:

    medical/general photography, prints, slides, copy work, video animation, portrait photography, web site/instructional media development support

  7. Computer slide graphics:

    presentation slides, custom and from client files, PowerPoint media, web site/instructional media development support
