The Department of Psychiatry provides high quality psychiatric services to individuals living in the northwest region of Missouri in an environment dedicated to clinical education, research and scholarly activity.
The full-time faculty in the department of psychiatry provides clinical service at two institutions. Western Missouri Mental Health Center, a 110 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located on Hospital Hill, offers inpatient and emergency services. Truman Medical Center Behavioral Health is an outpatient community mental health center on Hospital Hill which is owned and operated by Truman Medical Center.
The Truman Medical Center Behavioral Health Network (TBHN) serves as the primary training site for residents in outpatient and community psychiatry as well as consultation - liaison psychiatry.
