The Council on Selection
The council consists of faculty elected by peers from the basic and clinical sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences; docents; community representatives, and students. The dean may also appoint members not to exceed the number of elected members.The Council on Selection has been charged with the major responsibility of recommending to the Dean students selected by the council for admission to the medical school. It is also responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for selecting students for the school’s BA/MD, MD-only, and Oral Surgery/MD programs.
It’s meetings coincide primarily with the selection cycles. A retreat occurs annually.
