Six Year B.A./M.D. Program: Campus Visit Options
The UMKC School of Medicine understands the importance of visiting campus to determine whether or not UMKC and the School of Medicine can offer you the right experience for your college education. The School of Medicine offers several options for visiting to learn more about the B.A./M.D. Program.
Weekly Information Sessions
The School of Medicine offers weekly information sessions. These sessions allow students to visit both UMKC campuses. Sessions held at the School of Medicine take place on the following days:
Monday: 2:00 p.m. Information session and tour
Friday: 2:00 p.m. Information session and tour
Your visit will consist of a presentation and tour of the UMKC Volker Campus, where students spend the first two years of the B.A./M.D. program. Once your tour is complete on the Volker Campus, you will travel to the Health Sciences Campus for the 2:00 p.m. information session to receive more specific information about the B.A./M.D. program and a tour of the School of Medicine.
Tours of the Volker campus are typically arranged directly preceding the visit to the School of Medicine. The School of Medicine session will last approximately 1.5 hours.

NOTE: School of Medicine weekly information sessions will end for the semester on Friday, November 16, 2012. Weekly Information Sessions will resume on Monday, January 25, 2013.
School of Medicine Campus Visit Days
The School of Medicine also offers more extensive visit options that allow students a more in-depth look at the B.A./M.D. program. School of Medicine Campus Visit Days will take place on the following dates:
2013 - Campus Visit Days
NOTE: School of Medicine Campus Visit Days will resume in the spring semester. Dates and Registrations will be available at that time.
The day will begin on the UMKC Volker Campus with a presentation, tour, and lunch. After lunch, students will receive more specific information about the B.A./M.D. program. Students and families will then travel to the Health Sciences Campus to interact with School of Medicine students and staff, and participate in hands-on activities related to medicine. Most activities will include parent participation, but bringing young children is not advised.

9:30 a.m. Check-in at the Volker Campus and meet Admissions staff
10:00 a.m. Welcome
10:15 a.m. UMKC Admissions Presentation
10:45 a.m. Volker Campus Tour
11:30 a.m. Lunch with School of Medicine student and staff
12:45 p.m. School of Medicine Overview
1:00 p.m. Travel to Health Sciences Campus and check-in at the School of Medicine
1:30 p.m. Student groups: Youngblood Skills Lab, Tour of School of Medicine, Student Panel
3:30 p.m. Wrap-up
Students are required to register for Campus Visit Days. Registration will close 48 hours prior to the Visit Day, or once the day reaches capacity.
