In Memoriam: Former School of Medicine Dean James Mongan, M.D.
Dr. Mongan died Tuesday, May 3, at Massachusetts General Hospital. He served as dean of the School of Medicine from 1987 to 1996. In addition to serving as dean of the UMKC School of Medicine, Dr. Mongan also served for 15 years as executive director of Truman Medical Center, one of the School’s primary teaching hospitals.
